The Jupiter Rhythm Kings started life in 1982 as a Summer time diversion for Andy Morgan, Darren Williamson and Pete Williams (guitar, drums and bass and previously three quarters of The Wipeouts).

An article in the Tamworth Herald attempted to find a singer for the band - the result...Andy snogs the only girl to turn up for the audition and she doesn't join the band.

Meanwhile, at a practice session in the back room of the Old Stone Cross, Tamworth, tunesmith Andy Morgan tries out new compositions on drum and bass partnership Williamson and Williams:

Later in 1983, recording in Sheffield's prestigious Hallam bedsit studios, Andy Morgan makes the demo of "Let's Go To Jupiter" that's ignored by all the major record labels.

Afterwards Darren continued to drum for The Omen. Darren and Pete went on to be the rhythm section for the band that turned out to be the trial run of Dave Smith's The Original Royal Family (the band's working title: Boozy Dave and His Beer Swilling Gringos).
